Exploring the Healthy vs. Toxic Relationships in the Context of Personality Disorders and Filipino Socio-psychological and Spiritual Norms
In confronting the mental health issues of couple relationships, a clear distinction between toxic and healthy relationships needs to be established, along with proper responses that effectively deal with relational problems.
The course is aimed at understanding the different features of a healthy relationship as opposed to toxic and mentally unhealthy conditions and how it manifests in intimate behaviors. The basis for the comparison will be the intimacy and relational features of different personality disorders in contrast with healthy relational features idealized in marriage and family relationships.
This will also explore Filipino socio-cultural and spiritual values coherent with healthy relationships. In the end, it will instruct a working knowledge in counseling clients whose cases are associated with these kinds of toxic relational problems.
