The seminar aims to enlighten participants on the prevalence of depression in all age groups including millennials, the benefits of depression when people listen to it and learn the lessons their depression is teaching them. It is mainly a reaction to any kind of loss, when depressive illness, caused by chemical imbalance in the brain, is ruled out. Depression will be explored with the following sub-topics: categories/types of depression, symptoms, causes and triggers, depression self-rating scale, and treatment. The seminar will engage participant’s interpersonal reflection through the self-rating depression scale and personal questions to think through. The seminar ends with other practical suggestions to fight depression, and pointers to when a depressed person needs professional help.
